Recognize that boat, yes it is Chateau Beychevelle.

Great wine and a great price!
Grand Bateau Bordeaux Blanc....$10.99
The Elite Bordeaux Wine !
Dating back to the 1980’s, Grand Bateau is the fruit of the collaboration between Maison Barrière and Chateau Beychevelle, our sister company. The boat which decorates this label is the mythical galleon of the famous Château Beychevelle which took part and sponsored the conception and creation of Grand Bateau.  Today, Philippe Blanc, Château Beychevelle’s winemaker, provides us with the ultimate technical guidance in our famed assemblage of these wines.   Elaborated by our oenologist starting with a selection of the best wines from our partner estates, Grand Bateau incarnates the complexity of great Bordeaux.
Varietals:  75% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon

Vinification & Ageing:
Following a skin-contact maceration (pre-fermentation maceration resulting in greater aromatic structure due to the contact between the skins and the juice), 70% of the juice is fermented in new oak-barrels during 4 months. During this ageing period, “batonnage” is carried out (the lies are stirred giving the wines more weight and fat). After blending and filtration, bottling is carried out in late spring following the harvest.  Aromatic to the nose with notes of buttery-vanillin oak flavours and exotic fruit (orange rind and honeyed grapefruit….).  On the palate, the wine is round, fleshy with wonderful minerality and again, delightful exotic fruit flavours. The new-oak flavours are present. Very nice balance between the oak, fruit and acidity. Excellent finish.
