The Big O Ginger Liqueur....$31.99 / 750ml
he Premium Ginger Liqueur
The Big O is the most pleasing liqueur you will ever taste. It truly is artisan-made by people who appreciate fine food, excellent wine, a great liqueur, and good times. It blends the warmth of ginger and exotic spices, the sweetness of tropical sugars, the coolness of citrus, and the liberation of fine, artisan-crafted spirits.
The Big O is silky on the tongue, offering just a hint of a rising heat ― not too much, just a blush ― as the spices begin to reveal themselves, expressing their individual personalities and combined harmony. The tiny bite of alcohol raises your temperature just a bit - increasing your comfort. The combination of flavors then rests at the back of the tongue in a delightful kiss of spices, remembered pleasures.
When we make The Big O, we hand-select the spices we use, choosing the best all-natural botanicals available, so there truly is
Nothing Fake About It.

The next E.H. Taylor - Small Batch

Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch...$37.99 / 750ml

BTD Releases Col. E. H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey

FRANKFORT, FRANKLIN COUNTY, KY (Oct. 17, 2012) – Buffalo Trace Distillery pays homage to former Distillery owner E. H. Taylor, Jr. with a small batch, Bottled-In-Bond, 100 proof bourbon whiskey aged in Taylor’s warehouse.
Taylor built his iconic brick warehouse for barrel aging in 1881 and the Warehouse is still in use today. After seven years on the sixth floor, his namesake bourbon whiskey tastes of caramel corn sweetness, mingled with butterscotch and licorice. The aftertaste is a soft mouth-feel that turns into subtle spices of pepper and tobacco.
The Small Batch Bourbon is the sixth and latest release in the line of the E. H. Taylor, Jr. collection of whiskeys, rounding out the collection of Old Fashioned Sour Mash Bourbon, Single Barrel Bourbon, Warehouse C Tornado Surviving Bourbon, Barrel Proof Bourbon and Straight Rye Whiskey. The Taylor collection was first released in early 2011. Like the previous five releases, this whiskey will have very limited availability and will be packaged in a vintage label and canister reminiscent of Taylor’s bottles over one hundred years ago.
“We’ve had a tremendous response to our E. H. Taylor, Jr. whiskeys,” said Kris Comstock, Bourbon marketing director. “We’re honored to pay tribute to a pioneer and legend like Taylor.”
Edmund Haynes Taylor is widely considered one of the founding fathers of the bourbon industry, fighting for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, nearly three decades after he purchased the distillery that is known today as the Buffalo Trace Distillery. During his time, Taylor implemented several innovative methods still used today by Buffalo Trace, such as climate controlled aging warehouses. In addition to his bourbon interests, Taylor had political ties. He was the great-nephew of President Zachary Taylor and elected the mayor of Frankfort, state representative to the Kentucky General Assembly and a member of the State Senate.
The inaugural bottling of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey will be available in November. The suggested retail price is $39.99 per 750ml bottle.

Taste Pefection!
2009 Ch Leoville Poyferre St. Julien....$279.99
One of the more flamboyant and sumptuous wines of the vintage, this inky/purple-colored St.-Julien reveals thrilling levels of opulence, richness and aromatic pleasures. A soaring bouquet of creme de cassis, charcoal, graphite and spring flowers is followed by a super-concentrated wine with silky tannins, stunning amounts of glycerin, a voluptuous, multilayered mouthfeel and nearly 14% natural alcohol. Displaying fabulous definition for such a big, plump, massive, concentrated effort, I suspect the tannin levels are high even though they are largely concealed by lavish amounts of fruit, glycerin and extract. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2040.
Rated 100/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2009 Ch Lyonnat Emotion.....$32.99
Still quite youthfully toasty, with cocoa powder and espresso holding sway over dark plum and macerated currant fruit. The rich finish has the cocoa edge still in control, but the depth is there for this to come together. Drink now through 2017. 2,500 cases made.–JM
Rated 91/100 The Wine Spectator

2009 Clos Lunelles.....$44.99
This is a gorgeous effort, made from a blend of 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Cropped at 22 hectoliters per hectare from their clay over limestone soils, the wine displays oodles of new oak, crushed chalk, and blueberry and blackberry fruit with hints of raspberries and pen ink. It is full-bodied and layered, with a fleshy, even succulent mid-palate and a long, long finish. This is terrific Castillon to drink over the next 10-15+ years.
Rated 93/100 The Wine Advocate

2009 Ch Fontenil Fronsac $39.99
from Michel Roland
The basic Fontenil (95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) has a deep bluish purple color and relatively hefty alcohol at 14.5%, but it is not noticeable in this full-bodied, layered, opulent wine, with lots of black raspberry fruit intermixed with some blueberries and crushed rock. Both of these wines have a good 10-15 years of potential in a fine cellar.
Rated 92/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2009 Ch Croix Figeac St. Emilion...$29.99
Blackberry with licorice and black olive on the nose. Full-bodied, with lots of richness. Very concentrated, but I think it will come around just right. 80 percent Merlot, 20 percent Cabernet. This is really full throttle. Rock and roll. Score range: 92-95
Rated 92-95/100 Wine Spectator

2009 Ch La Rousselle....$29.99
An absolutely stunning sleeper of the vintage, this blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc has produced an uncommonly rich, concentrated wine that is one of the very best wines of Fronsac. Opaque ruby/purple in color, the aromatics offer up notes of blueberry liqueur intermixed with kirsch, blackberries, licorice and crushed rock. The wine hits the palate with some serious thunder and lightning (14.5% natural alcohol) and lots of depth, richness and mouth-filling intensity. Consultant Stephane Derenoncourt has made the best wine I have ever tasted from La Rousselle, and it should continue to drink well for at least a decade.
Rated 92/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2009 Ch Poujeaux Moulis...$41.99
The final blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot was cropped very low at 35 hectoliters per hectare. Deep purple, with a nose of subtle smoke, graphite, blueberry and black raspberry fruit as well as some spring flowers, in the mouth a touch of oak makes an appearance, but the wine is full-bodied, rich, inky and unctuously textured due to the high glycerin and alcohol that hits 14% plus. This beauty should drink well for up to two decades.
Rated 92/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2009 Ch Vieux Maillet Pomerol...$39.99
The finest wine I have ever tasted from this estate, the 2009 exhibits a dense purple color, lots of caramelized black currant and cherry fruit, hints of espresso and earth, and a dense, plump, corpulent personality. It is ideal for drinking over the next 10-15 years.
Rated 91/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2009 Ch Talbot St. Julien...$79.99
Extremely sexy, soft, supple and opulent, with notes of cedar, herbs, incense and black currant fruit, this is a full-bodied, generously endowed but silky Talbot to drink now and over the next 20+ years. By any standard of measurement, this is irresistible.
Rated 91/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2009 Connetable de Talbot St. Julien....$32.99
2nd Label of Talbot

2009 Ch Tertre Daugay St. Emilion...$41.99
This excellent yet under-exploited terroir has produced its finest Tertre Daugay to date. The dark ruby/purple-colored 2009 offers loads of black raspberry, licorice, and black cherry aromas, medium to full body, silky tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and an expansive finish. It should provide enormous pleasure over the next 10-15 years.
Rated 91/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

Crystal Head Vodka....750ml...$41.99

"Thousands of years ago, thirteen crystal heads were scattered across the earth – and they are greater and more powerful than anything we have the ability to manufacture today. Their workmanship is perfect: they contain no tool marks and have been cut against the natural axis of the crystal, defying the laws of physics. Some say they are artifacts from the lost civilization of Atlantis, some say they date back to the Mayans, still others say they were created by a higher intelligence.
Brought together, the Crystal Heads are said to contain vast knowledge and enlightenment capable of unlocking our most enigmatic ancient mysteries. Alone, each is believed to house radiant psychic energy, which has magical powers and healing properties." -- distillery

Jefferson 18 yr Bourbon almost gone for good!

Pappy Van Winkle lovers....make sure you get some of this...

order online

We have been told that the well has run dry -- we have about 90 bottles left!

Jefferson's Presidential Select 18 Year Old...$79.99

Produced the Stitzel-Weller Distillery that closed its doors in 1991.
You say that you have never heard of Stitzel-Weller Distillery? **

Stitzel-Weller Distillery was formed by the original "Pappy" of the great Pappy Van Winkle Bourbons and Stitzel-Weller Distillery also produced W.L. Weller Bourbons. Since we get very little Pappy Van Winkle, this is your chance to get another great Bourbon (while the limited supply lasts). It is bottled by the independent bottler Jefferson.

** If you are interested, read more about the history of Stitzel-Weller ---

"The Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery has a four generation history. The Van Winkle family’s involvement in the bourbon industry began in the late 1800s with Julian P. “Pappy” Van Winkle, Sr. He was a traveling salesman for the W.L. Weller and Sons wholesale house in Louisville, traveling around the state by horse and buggy. Pappy and a friend, Alex Farnsley, eventually bought the wholesale house and also purchased the A. Ph. Stitzel Distillery, which made bourbon for Weller. They merged the two companies and became the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. Their prominent brands were W.L. Weller, Old Fitzgerald, Rebel Yell, and Cabin Still. In May of 1935 at the age of 61, Pappy opened the newly completed Stitzel-Weller Distillery in South Louisville. He had a heavy influence on the operations there until his death at the age of 91. His son, Julian, Jr. took over operations until he was forced by stockholders to sell the distillery in 1972. The rights to all of their brands were either sold with the distillery or to other distilleries. After selling the distillery, Julian, Jr. resurrected a pre-prohibition label, the only one to which the Van Winkles kept the rights, called Old Rip Van Winkle. He used whiskey stocks from the old distillery to supply his brand. Julian junior’s son, Julian, III took over in 1981 when Julian, Jr. passed away. Julian, III has continued with the Van Winkle tradition of producing the highest quality wheated bourbon available. His son, Preston joined company in 2001 and the Van Winkles look to continue that tradition for generations to come. Recently, the Van Winkles entered into a joint venture with the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. All of the Van Winkle’s whiskey production now takes place at Buffalo Trace under the same strict guidelines the family has always followed in order to produce a superior quality product.Aside from the rich family history, Van Winkle bourbons are special for another important reason, their recipe. All of the Van Winkle bourbons are made with corn, wheat, and, barley instead of corn, rye and, barley. This “wheated” recipe gives the bourbon a much softer, smoother taste and it also allows the whiskey to age more gracefully." -- Old Rip Van Winkle website

George Dickel Black Label is back!

Finally back!

George Dickel Old No.8 Black Label...$15.99 / 750ml
We didn't quite know the extent to which our fans love George Dickel Old No. 8 Tennessee Whisky until our distillery re-opened in 2003. The excitement voiced for Old No.8 was overwhelming, all the more so since a brief shortage of our black-labeled sour mash was soon to be alleviated.

Today, our barrels of Old No. 8 are aged to perfection. This classic George Dickel whisky features our signature balance of Tennessee whisky flavors: aromas of light caramel and wood leading to a smoky finish that hints at flavors of maple and buttered corn.

Old No. 8 is the classic whisky that made George Dickel famous. In 2005, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition awarded Old No. 8 a silver medal for Tennessee Whiskys. Just this year, it was lauded with the prestigious Gold Medal. There's a reason the classics never fade away. Try George Dickel Old No. 8 Tennessee Whisky and find out why for yourself.

Very limited Robert Chevillon 2010 Burgundy!

From importer Kermit Lynch
2010 Robert Chevillon

2010 Chevillon Bourgogne Passetoutgrain...$23.99
You’ll find the unpretentious, hedonistic Gamay fruit of Beaujolais and the more refined, more discreet pleasure of Burgundian PinotNoir. It offers the best of both worlds, vinified by a truemaster.

Rare NSG White!
2010 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges Blanc...$72.99
Only 2 barrels made - less than 50 cases!
 50 year old vines
"...their rare (two barrels made) Nuits-Saint-Georges Blanc made from the “Pinot Gouges” is an exotic treasure that ages just as long as the domaine’s fabled reds.  With honey, brioche and white flower aromas. In the mouth it is lively, firm and ample. Can be kept for 4 to 8 years."

2010 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges Bousselots...$92.99
The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Bousselots bursts from the glass with the blackest of cherries, plums, menthol and spices. It shows tremendous depth and richness in a plush, totally inviting style that nearly buries the tannins. Today it is immensely appealing, but I have a hard time thinking it won’t shut down in bottle given the sheer structure of the material. These vines are over 50 years old. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2030.
Rated 91-93/100 The Wine Advocate
Rated 89-92/100 Burghound

2010 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges Cailles....$114.99
The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Cailles comes across as cool, mineral infused and a bit reticent. With time in the glass the aromas and flavors begin to take shape. The Cailles remains a firm, structured Nuits that will require considerable patience, but its expressive fruit and gorgeous inner perfume bode very well for the future. Menthol, graphite, spices, tar and licorice wrap around the persistent, saline finish. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035.
Rated 94-96/100 The Wine Advocate
Rated 92-95/100 Burghound Sweet spot Outstanding

2010 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges Chaignots...$92.99
The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Chaignots shows the more delicate, finessed side of Nuits in its red cherries, flowers and spices. The influence of the location of this site, on the northern side of Nuits abutting Vosne, comes through in the wine’s elegance. Firm tannins suggest the wine will need at least a few years in bottle to soften. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030.
Rated 91-93/100 The Wine Advocate
Rated 90-93/100 Burghound Outstanding

2010 Chevillon Nuits St. Georges Vaucrains...$114.99
The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Vaucrains is one of the more delicate wines next to some of the other 2010s. It shows gorgeous fleshiness in its layers of dark red fruit, spices and flowers. The Vaucrains is all about textural elegance and volume. The sensual finish makes this very hard to spit. Today the Vaucrains comes across as silkier and more finessed than the St. Georges, suggesting it may come around a bit earlier. That may also just be wishful thinking on my part. We will see. This is another breathtaking wine from the Chevillon brothers. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2025.
Rated 94-96/100 The Wine Advocate
Rated 93-95/100 Burghound Sweet spot Outstanding

Taste with Brit Kulsveen

  • Kentucky Vintage Bourbon
  • Kentucky Pure XO Bourbon
  • Rowan's Creek Bourbon
  • Noah's Mill Bourbon

In 2005 Britt Kulsveen Chavanne and her husband, Hunter Chavanne, moved to Kentucky to work in the family business. Britt is a Bardstown, Kentucky native and you could say that she comes from a long line of relatives whose roots run deep in the Kentucky whiskey industry. It was Britt’s Grandfather, Thompson Willett, who founded the company in 1936,  shortly after Prohibition. Before that, Britt’s Great Grandfather, Lambert Willett, was involved in many different distilleries across the Commonwealth in various capacities. Britt’s Great, Great Grandfather was one-third owner of, and Head Distiller at, the Moore, Willett & Frenke Distillery shortly after the Civil War. Britt’s father, Even Kulsveen, has been the proprietor of their family’s business since the mid 1980’s. On July 1, 1984 Even took over the family business and has been an instrumental figure in the revitalization of the Kentucky Bourbon market over the last twenty-five plus years. Even has focused much of his attention on very small batch, rare, boutique bourbons and single barrel items, with an eye always on the emerging world market for Bourbon. Britt is a jack-of-all-trades, as she is involved in several aspects of the family business --from glass procurements to tax payments to warehouse logistics to distillery renovations to…you get the idea. Hunter focuses on marketing and sales, spreading the gospel of the unique, handcrafted Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Rye Whiskies from Willett Distillery. Britt’s brother, Drew Kulsveen, has been with the company since 2004 and is the head distiller. Drew’s wife, Janelle, started work in the gift shop and tasting room towards the beginning of 2012. Even, Drew, Britt, Hunter and Janelle take great pride in carrying on the family tradition, as well as being part of a company that has several award-winning bourbon and rye whiskies to its credit.

More about the Bourbons....

Pure Kentucky XO
Pure Kentucky XO, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distilled, aged and bottled in Kentucky at 53.5% alc./vol. (107 proof).
This extraordinary Bourbon is the result of generations of the master distiller’s fine art of distilling.
Pure Kentucky is an all natural product. Made with all natural ingredients and pure limestone water, it is a true masterpiece among Kentucky's finest Bourbons. We hand-bottle this bourbon, extra old, in very limited quantities, one Small Batch at a time.
It is Pure Kentucky - Bourbon Extraordinaire!

Kentucky Vintage
Kentucky Vintage, Straight Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey is Distilled, Aged and Bottled in Kentucky at 45% alc./vol. (90 proof).
Kentucky Vintage is a Handcrafted Original Sour Mash Bourbon.
From a select few barrels, Kentucky’s most skilled master distillers carefully hand-pick the very few Barrels that meet their criteria for Small Batch Bourbon. Like fine Cognac and great Chateau's, a limited few barrels become destined for greatness.
This Bourbon has been allowed to age long beyond that of any ordinary Bourbon, giving it taste and flavor characteristics not found among other bourbons.
Kentucky Vintage is handcrafted in very small quantities in the heart of the Bluegrass - Kentucky’s famous Bourbon producing region.
It is true Vintage Bourbon from our Small Batch.

Rowan’s Creek
Rowan’s Creek is stored in charred oak barrels. It is hand bottled at 50.05% alc./vol. (100.1 proof).
Rowan’s Creek is made and bottled by hand, in small lots, one batch at a time.
This Bourbon takes its namesake from the creek that still runs through our distillery. Back in the late 1700’s when John Rowan first settled around Bardstown , whiskey makin’ was the order of the day. John went on and made a name for himself as a well respected judge and statesmen. The judge is long since gone, but the creek that still bears his name is still carrying the best limestone spring water there ever was for making good Bourbon, so you know the whiskey makin’ is still going on. Try a sip of it, straight up in a snifter, or add a dab of branch water if you like. Either way, it’s the very best there is.

Noah’s Mill
Aged in wooden barrels, bottled by hand at 57.15% alc./vol. (114.3 proof)
Noah’s Mill Genuine Bourbon Whiskey is handmade in the hills of Kentucky.
This is a Bourbon of extraordinary character and smoothness not found among younger whiskies. Its superior taste and flavor characteristics are made possible only from using the very finest quality ingredients at the outset along with the long years and patience necessary for nature to mellow everything to perfection. We bottle this Bourbon at a strength that best compliments its age, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy it like no other Bourbon.

Is the result of a "wicked idea" of Teo's and years of research.  It is a top-fermented beer which has gone through macro-oxidation and has been aged in oak rum barrels to give it scents of dates, caramel and delicate wooden note.  When poured, it has no head and no gas; it has a dark color and copper nuances."

2008 Baladain Xyauyu Fume....$43.99
"Is the most complex expression of Teo's approach ot the creation of what he calls"couch beers", to be enjoyed and savored slowly.  It is a top-fermented beer which has undergone macro-oxidation and has been aged for twelve months in Islay Scottish whisky barrels, which give it a natural peaty flavor.  It has a deep dark color with copper nuances; when poured, it has no head and no gas."

Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2012

In stock at Forsyth and available online now

Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2012...$42.99
Handcrafted by Master Distiller Chris Morris, the 2012 expression of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is vintage-dated and hand-selected from one specific day of production. The result: a one-of-a-kind character and flavor profile that will never be replicated.

This year's vintage release of Old Forester is crafted from an 82-barrel batch created on February 15, 2000. That day's mash bill had an extra amount of malt - 2% - added to the fermenter, resulting in the creation of a nuttier spirit. Once barreled, it was ricked on the fourth floors in Warehouses H and I, where it experienced a balanced maturation environment. The larger angels' share resulted in low barrel yields and therefore intense flavor concentration.
