Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2012...$42.99
Handcrafted by Master Distiller Chris Morris, the 2012 expression of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is vintage-dated and hand-selected from one specific day of production. The result: a one-of-a-kind character and flavor profile that will never be replicated.

This year's vintage release of Old Forester is crafted from an 82-barrel batch created on February 15, 2000. That day's mash bill had an extra amount of malt - 2% - added to the fermenter, resulting in the creation of a nuttier spirit. Once barreled, it was ricked on the fourth floors in Warehouses H and I, where it experienced a balanced maturation environment. The larger angels' share resulted in low barrel yields and therefore intense flavor concentration.

Tasting Notes
Color Reddish-orange
Aroma Rich and elegant, with sweet notes of caramelized orange peel, honeysuckle, vanilla, marzipan and toasted marshmallow oak
Taste Full of ripe fruit character, with oak sweetness, warming spices and almost nuttiness
Finish Long and warming, with a delicate, honeycombed oak note

Since its introduction in 2002, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon has received unprecedented acclaim from leading industry experts, including:
Best Bourbon, Double Gold Medal
2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Excellent, Highly Recommended
2012 Ultimate Spirits Challenge

Any reason TWCP doesn't carry Old Forrester Signature? The 100 proof bourbon that is in their lineup between the classic and the Birthday Bourbon?
